Recycling in our 200m2 plastic recycling facility, with our 55 employees and a processing capacity of 500 tons

Processing of packaging wastes from market terminals, points of sale, sorting at source activities and wastes from industrial establishments

As a result of workout operations those were given a fresh start at our Güneţli facility in 2003, a new facility of 1500m2 began to operate in Kýraç at the end of 2005. At the beginning of 2007, with an extention of 2000m2, our plastic facility reached to 3500m2. During production process, recycled plastic waste is sorted according to its type, color and production processes. These granules or burrs are sent to producers to be used as secondary raw material.

Products covered by recycling:
Low-density polyethylene: Transparent, natural, black granule.
High-density polyethylene: Burr and granule in various colors.
Polypropylene: Burr and granule in various colors.

• Recyclable items:
Fruit juice, non-alcoholic drink and food, soap and detergent, rice and suchlike pulse packages.

• Non-recyclable items:
Motor oil and painting boxes, margarine packages and the like dirty and greasy packages…

Plastic is a low-density, strong, easy-to-shape, low-cost item. Therefore, it is used in a wide variety of ways.
While up to 34 kg of fruit juice can be stored with 1kg of plastic material, less than half of this amount can be stored with 1 kg of paper, aluminium or glass.
Since the weight of packed material per 1 kg is more, plastic is more economical than the other materials.
With 25 recovered small bottle, a plastic jacket and with 35 used middle size PET bottle, even a sleeping bag can be produced.

• Processing
After being separated from other materials at the recovery facility, plastics are broken into pieces as small as a kernel of a corn. In order to get rid of impurities, plastics are washed. And by way of water, floating, light plastics are separated from heavy ones. These materials are dried to a moisture percentage of 1% and extruded. Melted plastics are separated from impurities left at the granule extruder. Granules are dried, packed and got ready for the production of new items.
