Recovery of used paper contributes to the protection of forests. Amount of energy needed for the production of one ton paper is 2.4 tons of wood, 440 tons of water and about 7600 kw/h. But in case of production from paper waste, these amounts decreases to 1.2 tons of used paper, 1.2 tons of water and about 2800kw/h. State Institute of Statistics estimates of waste for 2003: Waste collected at 3018 municipalities (out of 3215) which receive solid waste service is 26.12 million tons and the average of waste on a daily basis is 1,38 kg per individual. According to another research dating 2004: 1889 municipalities (out of 1911) have received solid waste service. Total amount of solid waste collected is 24.24 million tons and 1.34 kg per individual. |
