State Institute of Statistics estimates of waste for 2003: Waste collected at 3018 municipalities (out of 3215) which receive solid waste service is 26.12 million tons and the average of waste on a daily basis is 1,38 kg per individual. According to another research dating 2004: 1889 municipalities (out of 1911) have received solid waste service. Total amount of solid waste collected is 24.24 million tons and 1.34 kg per individual.
